Annual Family and Friends Weekend 2024

On Saturday, Sept. 7th, Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Nashville, will hosts its annual Family and Friends Weekend. The church picnic and community baptism event will be held at 7594 Old Hickory Blvd., Whites Creek, TN 37189. Following Saturday’s festivities, Mt. Zion is extending an invite to the entire community to come worship at one of its four locations across the city. Service times and locations can be found by visiting mtzionnashville.org. The Family and Friends Weekend has established itself as one of the largest and most anticipated annual events in Nashville. From 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7th Mt. Zion Baptist Church will offer an afternoon filled with games and activities for the entire family. There will also be free food, community resources, live entertainment and so much more. For those interested in in rededicating their lives to Christ or taking the next step in his or her faith journey, the ministry will also offer community baptisms. Those interested in participating can sign up by texting SALVATION to 78228.  Each year Mt. Zion Baptist Church comes together to uplift and celebrate the Nashville community through a weekend of family fun, wholesome entertainment, and community engagement. Mt. Mt. Zion Awards $55,000 to Local Community Organizations

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Aug. 16, 2024 –Expanding its local reach to support academic growth, leadership formation, and access to educational resources within the Nashville community, Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Nashville will award eleven Nashville organizations a total of $55,000. Through this funding, the Church will partner with the eleven Nashville organizations to support programs and resources that provide academic growth, athletic opportunities and attendance resources for students. Each organization will receive an award of $5,000 from the Church. “We are proud to announce this year’s awardees and greatly look forward to supporting them as they work to help our community,” Senior Pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Bishop Joseph Walker III said. The official check presentation will take place on Sunday, Aug. 25 at 7594 Old Hickory Blvd., Whites Creek, TN 37189 at 11:15 a.m. The following organizations will receive a $5,000 award from the Church: Antioch High School Cane Ridge High School John Overton High School Maplewood High School Whites Creek High School Robert Churchwell Elementary School Wright Middle School McKissack Middle School Brick Church Middle School Girls Scouts of America Back Field in Motion   Launched in 2012, Mt. Zion Baptist Church established a ministry educational partnership award with two Metro Nashville Public Schools. Nearly 12 years later, Mt. Zion has expanded this program to include eleven organizations across the Nashville community. “Working collaboratively in the Nashville community allows us to have a much broader impact beyond our Church that will lead to strengthening systems and resources in our communities needed to benefit our youth,” Bishop Walker expressed. “We are profoundly grateful to continue to be a resource that allows us to pour generously into our community.”  

NFL Alumni Partner With Mt. Zion Baptist for Back to School Bash

Mt. Zion’s Back to School Bash helps provide Nashville families with health resources, free school supplies, free diapers and other community resources NASHVILLE, Tenn., Jul. 17, 2024 – Mt. Zion Baptist Church Nashville will hosts its annual Back to School Bash on Jul. 27, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 2261 Murfreesboro Pike, Nashville, TN 37217. This event will allow families the opportunity to receive free school supplies, health screenings provided by Meharry Medical College and Southern Hills Hospital, free haircuts provided by local stylists, school physicals and immunizations, free diapers courtesy of the Nashville Diaper Connection, a shoe showroom where students can receive a free pair of shoes and so much more. Food trucks will also be available to provide free food for attendees. Former Tennessee Titan players Blaine Bishop, Derrick Mason, Dexter McCluster, and Al Smith will also be present to sign autographs and take photos. Sponsors and partners of the event include All Star Pediatric Dentistry, Meharry Medical College, Southern Hills Hospital, the NFL Alumni Association, the Nashville Diaper Connection, Metro Nashville Public Schools. Spartan Medical, and the Tennessee Department of Health. Free backpacks and school supplies will be available while supplies last. The vision of the event is to create the best possible experience for students and families to make the upcoming school year a success. Mt. Zion Baptist Church continuously strives to represent an oasis of hope within the Nashville community by providing community resources and activities such as the Back to School Bash.
