Why are baptisms important?

Water baptism is an outward declaration of the decision to follow Jesus. It is one the next steps a Christian makes after making the decision to follow Christ. Not only is getting baptized a public declaration of your faith but it also serves as a spiritual renewing, representing your new identity in Christ.

As you begin on this new journey, our team would love to support you and answer any questions you may have.

The first step to getting baptized is letting us know you’re interested!

Community Baptisms

Annually Mt. Zion Baptist Church offers a mass baptism event during our Family and Friends weekend. This weekend offers the perfect opportunity to make a public declaration of faith while enjoying the fellowship and company of like-minded individuals from the community.

This year our community baptism event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024 at 3 p.m. For those interested in participating, please text SALVATION to 78228.

Mt. Zion Baptist offers water baptisms once per month. During our Family and Friends weekend, our church hosts a mass community baptism event. This year’s event is scheduled for September 7, 2024 at 3 p.m.
