What Is Project 1866?

History & Legacy...

1866 is a historically significant and monumental year, having been the year that Mt. Zion Baptist Church became established as a church approximately three years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed, and became one the most pivotal executive orders issued in the U.S. to date. Over the course of one hundred-and fifty-three-years Mt. Zion has experienced triumphs and powered through tragedies and trials alike with integrity, truth, transparency, commitment, and community.

We Are "All In"...

How To Participate

Project 1866 is a 7 month initiative, with one primary objective, paying off the debt. Paying off the debt is a critical component influencing resource availability to address a culmination of initiatives inclusive but not exclusive to various forms of community outreach, partnerships, facility maintenance and upgrades, and increase philanthropic efforts (i.e. scholarship endowments, children’s build out). The overall goal is to do the aforementioned things without accumulating new debt, but with full financial resource allocation.

Join us starting Saturday, May 4th, and Sunday, May 5th, 2019, by pledging to give $1,866.00 to Project 1866, by giving two installments of $933.00, seven installments of $266.57 monthly, by giving $60.20 weekly, or any increment above your tithe and offering in one or multiple contributions over the duration of the 7 month initiative. You can participate by giving at all kiosks, text-to-give utilizing the keyword “ALLIN”, or via offering envelope adding the keyword “ALLIN”.

Although the goal is for 1866 persons to contribute $1,866, within the seven month timespan. Everyone is encouraged to contribute rather it is greater than, less than, or equal to $1,866.00. This is an ALL INclusive initiative, and Mt. Zion cannot be who or what it is without all of you or without 100% participation in this initiative.

Mt. Zion cannot be who or what it is without total commitment, without community, or without you!
